Chicken A La King

Chicken A La King
1/4 cup butter or margarine.
1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon poultry season
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup milk
2 cups cooked chicken
1 cup cooked peas

In saucepan melt butter.
Blend in flour, salt, pepper, and poultry season.
Add chicken broth and milk (I use skim milk) all at once and stir constantly, till thick and bubbly.
Add chicken and peas.
Heat through.
Pour over toast.
 
This is quick and easy and great for left over chicken or turkey.
You can add different things to it like pimiento or mushrooms.
We like it with just the peas.
My kids loved this when they were little.
