Raisin Scones
2 cups flour
3 tablespoons sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup milk
egg
1/2 cup raisins
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. Sift together flour, sugar, baking power, and salt. Cut in the butter until mixture is crumbly.
3.Mix milk and egg together.
4. Add milk and egg and raisins, blend well. The dough should be sticky.
5. Flour a flat workspace and knead the dough for about half a minute.
Roll it out to about a 1/2 inch thickness and cut into whatever shape
you like.
6. Bake for 15 minutes
Makes about 12 scones, depending on size.
I used a round cookie cutter (one of my collection) and it made 12.
They taste good warm and I love one with a cup of tea.
