Molasses Cookies

 Molasses Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix sugars, shortening,, molasses, egg, and ginger together until well combined.
  2. Add rest of ingredients and mix till combined.
  3. With hands make walnut size balls, roll in sugar and bake 9 - 11 minutes. I used the medium size Pampered Chef scoop and baked them for 9 minutes and they came out perfect. Nice big size and chewy.
  4. Allow to cool on baking sheet for a minute, then transfer to cooling rack to cool completely.

They are delicious!!!
Happy eating. 🍪

  1. I used this same recipe to bake molasses cookies for my mother at Christmas. I cooked some of them to long so she dunked them in her tea! She loved them so the recipe is a keeper.💖
