Cinnamon Biscuits

Cinnamon Biscuits


Before Icing



Ingredients:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 6 Tablespoons butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
  1. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda in a medium bowl and mix well.  
  2. Stir in vegetable oil and add milk and stir until blended.
  3. Kneed dough on floured surface until smooth.
  4. Spread dough into a 15x8 rectangle.
  5. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease a 9 inch round baking pan that has been greased.
  6. Spread butter over dough.
  7. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and mix well and sprinkle over butter.
  8. Roll up rectangle, jelly roll fashion. Pinch seam to seal.
  9. Cut roll into 1 1/2 inch slices. Arrange slices in baking pan.
  10. Bake until lightly browned, about 15 minutes.
  11. Remove from over and let cool before drizzling icing over top.
ICING
Combine 1/2 cup icing sugar, 1 Tablespoon milk, and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla.
Pour over biscuits.

Seems like a lot of work and I was thinking that they are a lot of trouble and I would probably stick to the kind you buy in those cans, BUT Ken tasted one and LOVED it, so I will make them again.
This is the first time making these and they didn't come perfectly shaped but I'll probably get better the more I make them.
